I was visiting and followed 93 around to it's termination. Holy cow, I
wasn't
expecting the beach to turn into tent city and a dumping ground. Old cars
up on blocks, rusty appliances tossed to the side of the road.... why does
the state allow all that? They need to bring in a few dozen bulldozers and
clean the place out.

Yeah, I figured I'd open a can of worms. Explain it to me,
I'm curious. I imagine there are probably groups on Oahu
trying to push to get the area cleaned, while there are
others doing just the opposite.

n/m, found plenty of articles about it such as this one:

I understand the homeless need a place to go, but all the trash
along the road.... eesh.
